  1. O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
  2. Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
  3. O Lord my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
  4. If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
  5. Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
  6. Arise, O Lord, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
  7. So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
  8. The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
  9. Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
  10. My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
  11. God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
  12. If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
  13. He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
  14. Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
  15. He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
  16. His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
  17. I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

Psalm 7 – Prayer

O Lord my God,

In You do I put my trust. Save me from all those who persecute me, and deliver me. Lest they tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver. O Lord my God, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands, if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me, or have delivered him that without cause is my enemy, then let the enemy persecute my soul and take it. Let him tread down my life upon the earth and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

Arise, O Lord, in Your anger. Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies, and awake for me to the judgment that You have commanded. So shall the congregation of the people compass You about. For their sakes, therefore, return on high. The Lord shall judge the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.

Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just. For the righteous God tries the hearts and reins. My defense is of God, who saves the upright in heart. God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready. He has also prepared for him the instruments of death; He ordains His arrows against the persecutors.

Behold, he travails with iniquity, has conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it, and has fallen into the ditch which he made. His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own crown.

I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen.

Psalm 7 – Poem

O Lord, my God, in You I take refuge,

Save me from those who pursue with grudge.

Deliver me from the grasp of the wrong,

Lest they tear my soul, make me long.

If there be guilt upon my hand,

If I’ve betrayed, or stained this land,

Let the enemy chase and overtake,

Trample my life, and honor break.

Arise, O Lord, in Your righteous ire,

Against the rage of foes, lift Your fire.

Awake, my God, decree Your just,

In Your judgment, I place my trust.

Gather the nations before Your throne,

Judge them fairly, make Your justice known.

Judge me, O Lord, by my integrity,

According to my righteousness, set me free.

O let the wicked’s evil cease,

Establish the just, bring us peace.

For You, O God, are righteous and true,

Testing hearts, knowing all we do.

God is my shield, my savior dear,

Upholding the upright, calming fear.

He prepares His weapons, ready to fight,

Against the wicked, in dark and light.

If one does not turn from their sin,

They’ll face the pit they’ve dug within.

Their mischief returns upon their head,

Their violence leaves them, cold and dead.

I will thank the Lord for His righteousness,

Singing praises to His name, endless.

For in His justice, we find our rest,

In His great love, we are truly blessed.

Amen.
