Psalm 1
- Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
- But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
- And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
- The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
- Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
- For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalm 1 Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your guidance and wisdom. Blessed am I when I do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. Help me to delight in Your law, meditating on it day and night, that I may grow in understanding and faith.
Lord, may I be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, bringing forth fruit in its season. Let my leaves never wither, and grant that whatsoever I do shall prosper under Your gracious hand. Keep me steadfast in Your righteousness and protect me from the ways of the ungodly, who are like chaff which the wind drives away.
I trust in Your judgment, knowing that the ungodly shall not stand nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. You, Lord, know the way of the righteous, and I seek to walk in that path. Guard my steps, lead me in Your truth, and let me remain faithful to Your word.
Thank You for Your everlasting love and for the assurance that the way of the ungodly shall perish. Strengthen my faith, so that I may always find joy and peace in Your presence.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Psalm 1 – Poem
The Blessed Path
Blessed is the one who walks not in the counsel of the unwise, Nor stands in the path where sin’s shadow lies, Nor sits in the seat of those who scorn, But finds delight in the Lord, where true joy is born.
Day and night, they meditate on His law, Drawing close, without a flaw. Like a tree by the waters, firmly placed, In its season, fruit is embraced.
Leaves never wither, prosperity flows, Whatever they do, it steadily grows. Not so the wicked, like chaff they fly, Driven away by the wind’s gentle sigh.
In judgment, they shall not stand tall, Nor in the assembly where the righteous call. The Lord knows the way of the pure, But the path of the wicked shall not endure.
Seek the path where blessings abound, In the law of the Lord, let your joy be found. Stand not with sinners, nor walk with the proud, But be like the tree, by the waters endowed.
